we offer exam preparation courses for the First Certificate (FCE) and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). Three times a year - to coincide with fixed exam dates worldwide - an 8 week preparatory course is available at our school (the programme includes 8 weeks of tuition 9 weeks of accommodation to include the final exam week).

TOEFL
The route to successful entry to many universities and many other higher educational institutions is a high TOEFL score. In our centre in Florida monthly preparatory courses are offered. These courses focus on providing you with the specific exam techniques to achieve the TOEFL score you require and consists of 20 lessons per week. Students can book their own test dates but LAL Fort Lauderdale staff will be happy to assist. Test are available almost every week.

If you work in the commercial sector a widely recognised business English qualification is the TOEIC exam. A high TOEIC score is valuable evidence of your English language competence in the business world. At LAL Fort Lauderdale we offer preparatory courses for this international qualification. Classes are held Monday through Thursday on Vacation English schedule so no student visa is necessary. Students can book their own test dates but LAL Fort Lauderdale staff will be happy to assist.

If your long-term study goal is entry to a university in the UK, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand a high score in the IELTS exam is required. We offer preparatory courses which provide practice in the important skills university-bound students require - e.g. essay writing and lecture note-taking. This is a Minigroup Intensive course with 30 lessons per week focusing exclusively on IELTS preparation.

UNIVERSITY PATHWAY PROGRAMME
To meet the needs of university bound students LAL Fort Lauderdale offers a pathway to the Everest University. This private university was established in the 1940’s and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. Everest offers Associates (AS) Bachelors (BS) and Masters degrees (MS). You can prepare for higher education by reaching the required English level at LAL Fort Lauderdale. The university has admissions four times a year in January, April, July, and October. Please contact us for furher information.
