VICTORIA AND ALFRED WATERFRONT
The V & A is a magnificent restoration of historic buildings within this bustling harbour has created a quaint village of museums, taverns, shops and hotels. Colourful outdoor cafés serve mouth-watering seafood and specialities, and entertainment often includes a variety of music from live bands.

 

TABLE MOUNTAIN
This unique flat-topped mountain offers exquisite views of the whole Cape Peninsula, rugged mountains and an exotic blue ocean. Around every corner, there’s a view to enthral. Table Mountain cableway station is a 10-minute drive by mini-bus and 4-minute cableway ride to the top. This sight will be the start of a journey proving that this is indeed the Fairest Cape in the entire world.

CLIFTON BEACHES
The pristine beaches of Clifton always prove to be some of Cape Town’s most desired locations. Although, the Atlantic Ocean tends to be cold, it still offers crystal clear waters to sunbathers. A 10-minute bus ride will take you to the Cape’s favourite beaches.

 

RATANGA JUNCTION
A day at the wildest place in Africa is certainly not your average day. Ratanga is a Theme Park offering you 30 rides and attractions including thrill rides, such as the vicious Cobra roller coaster and the very wet log flume ride of the Monkey Falls. It also offers gentle family and kiddie’s rides, stunt shows, snake and falconry shows and restaurants to suite everyone’s palate.

 

KIRSTENBOSCH BOTANICAL GARDENS
Situated on the southern-east slopes of Table Mountain, these Gardens cover 560 hectares and contain some 4000 species of indigenous plants from all over South Africa. A 20- minute bus ride from the centre will take you there.

 

GREENMARKET SQUARE FLEAMARKET
Nestled in the heart of the City, Greenmarket Square the mother of fleamarkets in Cape Town offers a friendly vibrant atmosphere, created not only by the friendliness of the traders themselves, but also by buskers, drummers, jugglers and mime artists.

 
SOUTH AFRICAN MUSEUM
Run your fingers over a 70-million-year-old fossil, wonder at some of the finest examples of rock art in the world or plunge into a four-storey high Whale well filled with real whale skeletons. This is just a few of the secrets the South African museum holds.
 
PLANETARIUM
Marvel at how small you feel as the universe unfolds above you in the Planetarium. This also forms part of the SA Museum.
 
BO-KAAP
The picturesque "Malay Quarter" of Cape Town is an extremely interesting area and has its own museum. Discover the unique lifestyle, personality and culture of the Cape Muslim community and their contribution to South Africa’s development. Bo-Kaap is just a 5-minute walk from the city centre.
 
DISTRICT SIX
Once the colourful and vibrant home to thousands of Capetonians of various cultures until they were forcibly removed by the 1966 Group Areas Act. Now all that remains is wasteland and the old Moravian church, which now serves as a District Six museum. The museum is just a 15-minute walk from the city centre.
 
TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM
Visit South Africa’s largest aquarium and find out more about the mysteries of the great oceans’ depths. Look below the surface into ecosystems usually only explored by experienced by divers. The aquarium is situated at the entrance of the Waterfront, close to the centre.
 
IMAX THEATRE
South Africa’s only IMAX cinema combines a giant five-storey high screen with 15 000 watts of digital wrap-around sound to create a "larger than life" experience. The IMAX cinema is situated in the V & A Waterfront.
 
SA PARLIAMENT
The tour of the South African Parliament allows you to see one of the youngest democracies in the world in action. It is situated in the Company Gardens in the City centre.
 
BOULDER BEACH/PENGUIN COLONY
A thriving African Penguin colony lives in the fabulous surroundings of Boulder Beach. Relax on the beach for a few hours in the company of these fascinating and amusing birds. The beach is at Simon’s Town, approximately 30km from Cape Town, and can be reached by car or by bus.

ORGANIZED TRIPS OUTSIDE OF CAPE TOWN
We also provide full information about safari tours that the students can book at our centre. These tours, organised by leading local tour operators, include 16 day overland safaris to Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and shorter tours to Zululand. Most of these tours start in Johannesburg.

Other destinations include the West Coast with the West Coast national park, Langebaan and its myriad of water-sports, 4x4 trails and sand-boarding.

During the spring you can see the incredible Namaqualand Daisies, a natural phenomenon of unsurpassed beauty. However if this all seems too much like hard-work then maybe you could just lie back on one of the many sun-soaked beaches and relax.
