Babylon Idiomas Barcelona - learn Spanish in Spain

the school

Babylon Idiomas Barcelona is centrally located in downtown Barcelona, in a quiet street with spacious classrooms, a large common room and a beautiful big terrace: the ideal location for you to learn Spanish. The school is situated on the 1st floor of a typical building in the heart of Barcelona that was built in the late 19th century and is one of the architectural highlights of our city. High ceilings, French windows and original mosaic floors create a very special surrounding. We are confident that you'll like the ambiance and intimacy of our language school as much as we do. Our large outdoor terrace is the heart of the school's social life and you can always find students and teachers talking and mingling here. There is also an inside living room where you can get a fresh espresso ("cafe solo" as we like to call it), surf the web or read a newspaper. Although our school is non-smoking, smoking is allowed on the outdoor terrace. All our class rooms have air-conditioning to keep you cool in Summer and warm in Winter. Worth mentioning are the ergonomical chairs that make your Spanish course just that little bit more comfortable.

¡CULTURA NOW!
Every week we organize a culture class. Our teachers prepare a different presentation on subjects such as architecture, Spanish movies, Spanish literature or Spanish history.

HAPPY MIÉRCOLES
Every Wednesday evening we organize a social activity where all the students participate. Some examples of activities we organise: beach party, salsa lesson, cava & tapas, paella night, “degustación internacional”, wine tasting.

CINE HISPANO
Every Thursday evening you can get your popcorn ready, sit back and enjoy one of the many excellent movies that the Hispanic film world has to offer [with Spanish subtitles to make it just a little bit easier to follow].

WEEKEND OLÉ
Every month we organise an activity or excursion such as a trip to the Dali museum in Figueras, a sailing trip on the Mediterranean or a visit to the monastery of Montserrat.

In addition to these activities, we'd be delighted to help you book alternative activities such as dancing classes or sailing lessons.

About Barcelona

Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city with around 1.5 million people. The metropolitan area adds the same amount for a total of 3 million. The city is very compact and easy to get around. You will have no difficulty getting (cheaply) from A to B. Barcelona has an excellent public transport system. Metros now run 24 hours per day from Friday night till Sunday evening so you can stay out late and still get home quickly and safely.

The most economic way of getting round is either buying a T-10 pass (valid for 10 journeys) or if you are for a longer time in the city, you can buy a monthly pass. These passes are valid on the metro, bus and trains.

Barcelona is warm in Summer and mild in winter with some fresh days in January and February. Humidity can be high from time to time but the beach is always nearby to cool down.
