New look for www.lalgroup.com (but not for long....!!!)

Over the past days you may have noticed that our website has changed colour! This is to reflect LAL's new corporate identity which is in the process of being introduced. Work is underway for a totally new and improved website. We expect this to be launched in early autumn. In the meantime keep visiting www.lalgroup.com as usual for news and updates about LAL and our expanded number of partner organisations.

New brand for Malta

As announced recently on this website and in the LTM the Malta school reverts to being IELS and will operate independently of the LAL group of schools. Soon IELS will have its own website and brochures and for 2009 will NOT be featured in the new LAL schools brochure or website. The two businesses and their new brands will no longer be commercially linked. For LAL Schools and partners contact Chris Nolan. St Swithun's, Winchester - new young learner residential centre in the UK

One of the most successful independent schools in England, St Swithun’s is located in England’s old capital, Winchester, a city steeped in history with a marvellous cathedral as its centrepiece. It is the perfect location for students, easy to get to, just an hour from London and other must-see destinations such as Stonehenge, Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club and the university city of Oxford, and the school is very close to the sea and the Isle of Wight.

Most of the accommodation is in single rooms, but there is the option of larger multi-bed sleeping accommodation for younger students. St Swithun’s facilities are all first-class, with a purpose-built sports hall, large sports fields, tennis courts and a modern indoor heated swimming pool. We are introducing, as an option, a tennis school with qualified LTA coaches leading group sessions. The addition of Winchester means that in 2009 LAL UK now has a portfolio of three international residential summer schools under the management of Mark Cook.

St Cyprian's, Cape Town - new young learner residential centre in South Africa

Situated on the slopes of Table Mountain, St Cyprian’s Boarding School is widely recognised as one of Cape Town’s leading independent schools. The colonial-style buildings are an example of the diversity of South Africa’s heritage. The well-kept woods and grounds are a haven of wildlife and a lovely place to wander around. There is a well stocked library, modern information technology centre and great sporting facilities all on-site.

Students can mingle, speak English and make friends in our television and recreation rooms. The Katherine House school residence feels like a ‘home away from home’. Accommodation is in dorm style rooms with shared bathrooms and showers. The boys and girls sections are separate.
