The University of Cambridge Certificate examinations

language qualifications in the world. If your

level is between intermediate and advanced you have
a choice of three Cambridge exams - First Certificate
(FCE), Advanced (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE). Three
times a year - to coincide with fixed exam dates worldwide
- an 8 week preparatory course
is available at our school (the programme includes 8
weeks of tuition 9 weeks of accommodation to
include the final exam week).

IELTS
If your long term study goal is university study in the Malta, the UK, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand a high score in the IELTS exam is required. Our course focuses on the development of the essential study skills that university-bound students need – e.g. essay writing and lecture note taking. The course is run as a Minigroup Intensive (max 6 students) with 30 lessons per week. The last 4 weeks of the 7 week course are dedicated to preparation for the examination.

Pathway Programme with the University of Malta
To meet the needs of university-bound students LAL Malta has teamed up with the prestigious University of Malta. Study for an internationally-recognised Bachelors degree (BA/BSc Hons) or a Masters Degree (MBA/MA/MSc). Prepare for higher education by reaching the required IELTS level with LAL Malta. Depending on your entry level you can choose either a 32 week, a 23 week or an 11 week preparatory course before starting university.

INTERNATIONAL TEACHER TRAINING
This 2 week course is aimed at the qualified English language teacher whose first language is not English and whose job it is to teach English to Primary, Secondary and Tertiary students.

The general course structure will provide the ‘teachers’ with the opportunity to observe our own teachers, and take part in teaching practice within the school whilst being observed by their colleagues and our own members of the teaching department. In this way they can incorporate feedback and information exchange sessions into the syllabus.
