We offer the First Certificate in English (FCE), Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) and Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) examination courses.

This option has been designed to suit those students who wish to improve their English and gain some confidence before enrolling on the examinations course. For the first four weeks students will attend General English classes in the morning to build on their grammar and vocabulary, and in the afternoon attend Intensive courses to enhance their communication skills. To ensure that the students are making the required progress and optimising their time they will have weekly tutorials with members of the examination team.

This course is for students who are seeking to communicate effectively in everyday situations and gain a sound understanding of the principles of the English language. The morning lessons are designed around a course book and provides the opportunity for students to improve the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as enhancing and increasing their active / working vocabulary and grammar knowledge. By the end of their stay the students can expect to have improved not only their communicative competence, through their study of ‘survival’ English and ‘everyday’ English but will have also achieved a new level of learner autonomy and confidence.

This is an intensive course for students who wish to have the opportunity to enhance the skills of listening and speaking. The additional lessons per week provide the ideal conditions to further develop a wide range of vocabulary and improve your key communication skills. Grammatical structures and vocabulary dealt with in morning lessons can be put into practice in these lessons, allowing a greater degree of reinforcement.
