The general course structure will provide the ‘teachers’ with the opportunity to observe our own teachers, and take part in teaching practice within the school whilst being observed by their colleagues and our own members of the teaching department. In this way they can incorporate feedback and information exchange sessions into the syllabus.
The overall aim of the course will be to help the ‘teachers’ via three main areas…

Language Improvement:
• oral competence
• aural competence
• reading comprehension
• writing competence

Professional skills:
• needs analysis
• lesson planning
• learner-centred approach
• communicative approach
• classroom management
• awareness and use of authentic materials

Practical observation and teaching
• peer teaching
• importance of paralinguistics

The International Teacher Training Course can be packaged and subsidised where the ‘teachers’ are able to supply students from their own schools to follow other LAL Torbay courses.

The course needs a minimum of four participants.

Please note that LAL Torbay also offers a ‘Free English’ course for overseas students attending classes taught be trainee teachers on our various teachers courses
