

What is Tavistock like?
Tavistock is a charming market town of just 12,000
people, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and
within easy reach of Plymouth (20kms) and Torbay
(40kms) in the south west of England. It is the birth-
place of the famous English explorer Sir Francis Drake.
The many shops, both large and small, offer a wide
variety of goods and souvenirs, while the market stalls
sell lots of different things from clothes to collectibles.

The largest town in Devon with an illustrious
history as
a naval base and the starting point for many
historic
voyages, including the departure of the Pilgrim

There are sharks, crabs and a seahorse collection
at the
National Marine Aquarium and an interpretation
centre at
the Plymouth Dome.
Exeter (population of 100,000, about 35 miles from Kelly College)
An attractive town on the river Exe, famous for its cathedral, University and ancient buildings. Excellent shopping opportunities in Exeter.
