If you are a student who requires a visa to travel to Malta and are staying here for quite a while, it may be that your entry visa will not cover the whole duration of your stay. If you do need to extend your visa whilst you are here, please inform the welfare department at least two weeks before your entry visa is due to expire. The school will give you a letter confirming that you are a student at IELS and assist you with what you need to do next.
If you are a third party national, and exempt from the visa requirement, you are allowed to remain in Malta for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of your arrival. If you plan to stay longer, you will need to apply for a residence permit to cover the period of your studies in Malta. The welfare team will be able to advise you on what you need to do, so please contact them at least two weeks before your entry stamp expires.
