Travelling around

The bus service, run by the Passenger Transport Association (ATP), is the cheapest and safest way to travel around Malta. Buses run every day of the year except for 3 hours on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day between 12.00 hrs and 15.00 hrs.

Bus prices are very low and fares range between €0.47 and €1.16 depending on your journey. Direct routes from Sliema to Valletta: 62, 64, 66, 67 & 68 (€0.47).

We also recommend that you first ask for the price before using a taxi, in order to avoid being overcharged.

If you enjoy cycling, it is possible to rent a bicycle with free delivery to a destination of your choice. Prices vary from €6.99 to €12.81 depending on how long you need the bicycle. The price also includes a lock, pump and a repair kit.

One of the easiest ways to explore the island is by car. Here at IELS we have a special deal with Europcar, one of the leading car hire companies in the world; which means that you can hire a car with delivery and pick-up from your accommodation or school.
